As we head back from Palma de Mallorca, where we were invited to the international hairdressing awards and the Revlon global #frontrowsummit we finally have time to catch our breath and deliver a much needed salon news update, it’s been way too long…

So here’s a little recap of what we’ve been up to in the last 6 months 

We are beyond excited to announce that Teresa is named finalist in the prestigious British Hairdressing Business Awards 2023 for Marketing campaign of the year for her campaign launching our sister company ‘@TheBridalhairArtists‘

This focuses solely on our brides 

With a new website TheBridalhairArtists.com new social media on fb and Instagram @thebridalhairartists and new email for all bridal inquiries hello@thebridalhairartists.com 

This all launched the same week as we were invited to create the catwalk hair in the nations biggest bridal catwalk @thenationalweddingshow sponsored by our hair hero’s @revlonprofessionaluk and @greatlengths hair extensions 

We had so much exciting coverage in most of the major national hair magazines including a six month feature in @professionalhairdressermagazine called The Business of Brides where Teresa has been sharing the secrets of her success to fellow hair artists ahead of her new course which will launch in 2024

And this week we had more good news that we are named finalists in The Salon Business Awards for SALON TEAM of the year 2023, this means so much to us as our team are being recognised for their amazing hair skills and work in the industry, more of that later……….

We won at the salon awards in nov 2022 for the best Bridal hair stylist (Teresa) and apprentice of the year for Emily. At this time we also welcomed two more amazing team members, Bayley as our new apprentice who is so full of sass, fun and aspirations, we love him, and you must check out his head massage! And then Stephanie Dwyer also joined our team, and wow she’s literally a pocket rocket. Stephanie is an incredible stylist boasting 16 years experience experience and is currently one of the chosen few selected for Project colour with the ‘Fellowship for British hairdressing’

Teresa and Stephanie showcased their skills together on stage at @hairclublive last month and had so much fun mixing with the best hairdresser’s in our industry

In February our very clever and talented Emily and Olivia both qualified together for City and Guilds Level 2 awards, Emily with distinctions and the highest marked apprentice for many years with our education partners @kleekapprenterships 

Teresa won Bridal stylist / long hair expert in the National Hair Awards by @hairmagazine, a dream to win win for Teresa 

We have also finalised in the Surrey Awards for BEST SALON IN SURREY

This is just a small part of what we’ve been doing, because most of all we are busy creating beautiful hair for you day in day out in our lovely salon

We have been super busy creating beautiful hair and growing our team

Our new team members Emily, Skye, Rosie and another Millie are not only passionate and dedicated to their craft but also so much fun to be around

And the salon is on fire right now with these stylists and graduate stylists creating the most beautiful hair 

At the end of last year we won “the best customer experience in Surrey “at the salon awards“ and had amazing time together attending these awards in person for the first time in two years ! And adding to our best salon for bridal hair, gsg creative excellence award and Phorest 5 star experience award for receiving a year of 5 star reviews

On the 31st January Millie's baby arrived - a little girl ! Weighing 5.15 lb making beautiful Hatty our first TeresawellerHairArt baby ! 

Im February Teresa's work was published on the front cover of your Surrey wedding magazine with our very own Olivia modelling for this beautiful bridal shoot and had a lovely interview with the guys at county wedding magazine

Teresa and Stef attended the ASOS beauty awards in London at the end of feb with the talented singer Talia Dean and had so much fun mixing with the best in the industry

Wow! Where did the first half of the year go?  Since we were allowed to reopen on the 12th April we have had a blast transforming everybody’s “lockdown” hair. It has truly been a journey of ups and downs for all of us, we are just so happy to be back doing what we do best, creating fabulous hair!

Since everybody has had the time to decide what style to go for next, we have been busy creating everything you can imagine, from our signature balayages, creative cuts, perms, intricate and technical colour work, total hair re-styles and the transformative Rapture hair extensions. Everyone is feeling more creative than ever!

Whilst we have enjoyed welcoming everyone back into the salon, in view of all the restrictions being lifted on the 19th of July we have decided to continue to provide sanitising stations, temperature checking on entrance, and we will be keeping masks for the staff and ask that our clients continue to wear face coverings when moving around the salon.

We also want to assure you that as our clients we will continue with extra cleaning routines and will continue to use the cleaning products currently in operation. All staff will continue to take lateral flow tests and we would kindly ask that clients do not enter the premises if they are showing any symptoms associated with COVID-19. 

Our online store is still available, and at your disposal with free delivery.  

So whats new?! 

We are so excited that Liv has decided to trainee, having completed her Rapture hair extensions course. Our favourite go to brand of tape in extensions. She is embarking on the path to become a stylist.

We also would like to announce that our amazing front of house Stef is joining Liv in training to be a stylist. She is currently our absolute toning Queen so it is very exciting that she is training. 

And finally… the boss lady! Well Teresa has been the busiest lady of all, from creating a bridal hair course for Stylists globally, to completing a mental health first aid course in her spare lockdown time (MHFA England). Teresa’s work has also made features in Surrey magazine, which includes Nicky Hamilton Jones, the presenter of Ten Years Younger, who recently had her hair styled by Teresa inside Lucinda’s dress shop in Purely, and also in Premier magazine. Pictures and features on Instagram @TeresaWellerHairArt. Teresa has also just entered the British Hairdressing Awards with her Avant Garde collection with photographer, Desmond Murray, all to be revealed soon online and at the salon!

In light of the year we have all just endured and want to wipe away from our memories, I just wanted to bring a little attention to my starry moments amongst the darkness of 2020.

Despite being locked down 3 times there’s been so many amazing things to look back on

After the first lockdown we really noticed how a sense of community has arisen in Dorking and how that support network has pushed our small businesses on the high street through the year. We have all really looked after each other, I for one want to thank all my loyal clients, local community, friends and my wonderful team for so much support in these dreadful times.

In long periods of isolation It was amazing to know we weren’t alone, we have all gone through this pandemic together, on top of normal life problems

Now for the boasting ........
Despite such a tough year it brings me so much joy to share we won @salonawards for the best bridal hair salon in Surrey for the second year running , this is a national industry awards and a huge credit to our bridal work and our beautiful team, we are over the moon

The awards were virtual of course but it was exhilarating to hear our name read out as the winners !

We also had another front cover on the Christmas issue of @surreylifemagazine amongst 5 pages inside ! Teresa really enjoyed creating all the hair looks amazing for the models on this shoot for the cover back in September, in collaboration with @surreyfrills and @makeupbjana shot at loosely park Guilford

This is now Teresa’s forth front cover in just 18 months amongst countless features and published collections of her work, she is so thrilled to have her work grace the pages and front covers of Surrey magazines

And 2021 is bringing lots more exciting projects!

We are also launching our new online shop we should be ready the first few days of January, you will now be able to order your favourite products including gift boxes and gift vouchers through our online shop for click and collect or local delivery

Lastly! Obviously we were devastated to close 5 days early before Christmas and although we had worked tirelessly round the clock to fit everyone in, we know there’s a lot of our guests that missed out as they were booked in the last few weeks of December.

Once again all those who had bookings that we unable to see due to the sudden tier 4 restrictions will be on the priority list when we are allowed to re open and will be contacted as soon as we possibly can we will be posting on our social media to keep you updated

I want to begin by thanking all my amazing clients for obeying the restrictions and being patient with the team when we need to antibac areas. We are taking your safety very seriously and understand that everything right now is uncertain and rather scary. On that note I want to go over our plans for lockdown and the closure of the salon for November.

Homecare packages will be available like last time with home deliveries or collection available. You can now purchase a voucher for your next appointment to secure it and to support us. 

And I know it's early but Christmas is right round the corner and this has been a tough year. Gift boxes with amazing bespoke products are now available to buy or you can now make a personalised gift set for someone who needs it this Christmas. Not only can it include our EKS range but also our new ReStart range which is skincare for hair.

Christmas shopping will be different this year so we want to make it easier on you. Let's make this Christmas about taking care of each other.

On a much more positive note, I am elated to announce that Teresa Weller HairArt has been shortlisted for not one, not two but four categories in Surrey salon awards 2020 I am beyond grateful and want to say thank you to everyone who has supported my business.

Since 4th July we literally hit the ground running! 

It was so wonderful to see you all back in the chair with very long hair and long roots! As well as lots of new faces! 

We were apprehensive about wearing the ppe and whilst it was really tough in the extreme heat we have all got used to our masks and visors taking temperatures and anti backing everything all the time! We are proud to be working safely to protect our guests and ourselves.

It is a massive pleasure to introduce not one but two new stylists to the Teresa Weller HairArt team! Stuart and Rhianna now join Teresa and Millie on the salon floor with Steffie looking after reception and our lovely Phil on social media. 

Stuart had his own salon in Epsom which he decided to close to be nearer to home, Sasoon trained with 20 years in the industry he brings his edgy sharp cuts and striking colours to the salon team. 

Rhianna just qualified, brings her overwhelming passion for everything hair and beautiful personality alongside her love of edgy on trend colours and she has already joined Teresa on a few magazine shoots! Watch this space - and this winter as a team we are going to shoot our first salon collection! 

And whist on the subject of shoots Teresa’s work graced the pages and front cover of @SurreyLife magazine September edition when she worked on the hair of five beautiful local celebrities promoting boutique fashion houses in our beautiful surrey hills In collaboration with @surreyfrills style experts! The shoot was in 36 degrees in the exquisite location of Silent Pool. 

As if this wasn’t exciting enough Teresa was then invited to create the hair for new band @kingsdaughters for their new single, Dancing in the Rain produced by legend Brian May! Talia and the team were so happy with Teresa’s creative eye and this beautiful fairy princess look for the video was created using hair extensions and lots of curls on another incredibly hot day @silentpoolgin. 

The video and their first live performance can been seen via YouTube link on Tuesday 29th September at 8pm.

We cannot wait to watch! With our first salon video being streamed live in the break.

And with a Dorking strong team of creatives including @surreyfrills @makeupbyjanauk @flowersbyelaine @mayflowerspa behind the video we are hoping for masses of chart success for this beautiful and talented band.

We are delighted to announce the news from Tuesday 23rd June by the government that we can re open our beautiful doors on Saturday 4th July.

On our lovely Dorking high street, and boy have we missed our beautiful high street.

Our online booking system is back open and we are already fully booked for the first two weeks of July and we can’t wait to welcome you back - so please get booking to avoid disappointment!

Things are going to look a little different when you visit us. 

Firstly, we will be wearing our PPE and will check your temperature when you arrive using a contactless thermometer - this protects all of our clients, you and us.

We will then give you your PPE and begin your hair service and create beautiful hair for you again.

For now we will not be serving hot refreshments just water, however please feel free to grab a coffee from one of our lovely local coffee shops and bring it with you.

Our appointment times and working hours will be longer and there are breaks set in-between appointments for cleaning our work spaces and the salon, so please be patient as things may take a little longer.

Also please be honest - if you have applied home colour during lockdown your appointment time will be longer and we will need time to correct, we can only provide the service that you have been booked in for due to our strict appointment times.

If you need to pop in and purchase products please ring us ahead so we can prepare this order for you in advance.

We have removed the waiting area to minimise people in the reception area and we would prefer if you payed by BACS transfer in advance for your service again to avoid contact at reception.

We can re book you whist we are working on your hair.

We have been busy during lock down carrying our risk assessments according to government guidelines and COVID awareness courses with professional hairdressing bodies.

Teresa would like to personally thank all our lovely loyal clients for their continued love, support and well wishes during this incredibly difficult time.

And to all that have purchased vouchers or have been taking advantage of Teresa’s bespoke local delivery service, it’s been fun chatting on your driveways at social distance.

It was a perfect end to a perfect year with Teresa and Gid working around the clock making everyone looking extra beautiful for Christmas and new year.

And after a lovely break we a back into the swing of a busy new year -

We have lots of exiting projects coming up before the spring - we are so excited to reveal a little later on 

The most exciting news is that we have made it through to  the @TheBritishWeddingAwards - the awards ceremony is held on March 19th in London ! We are really looking forward to that ! Fingers crossed

We are over the moon !

We made it to the final of the Surrey business awards for the new business start up of the year - the awards ceremony is on 21st November at Epsom Racecourse ! We can’t wait for that night !

This month we made it to the front cover of your Surrey wedding magazine for the second time this year and also had a lovely feature in Surrey life magazine for their wedding special. We ran a competition with them to win a bridal makeover with us ! We cannot wait to meet the lucky winner !

We also did put very first wedding fair at our lovely friends from Guilford Manor beautiful wedding venue where we have shot many of our collections this year. It was a great day meeting lots of brides to be and showcasing our bridal hair styling

The diary is really filling up in December so remember to get your Christmas hair appointment booked soon !!

Wow ! What an amazing way to end a busy summer! I’m over the moon to announce - WE DID IT ! WE WON 

Thank you so much to the judges @SalonAwards and all the support we’ve had from industry professionals and our wonderful clients and everyone who took time to vote for us !

We couldn’t be happier to have won this award and it means so much to be recognised in the industry especially with my massive passion for bridal hair, and now as a dream team with Gid by my side we cannot wait to create more beautiful hair for future weddings in Surrey. 

September 7th marked the 1st anniversary of Teresa Weller HairArt opening on Dorking High Street and we celebrated with a party launching our new EKS haircare range which is a bespoke tailor-made service by @RevlonProfessionaluk. Also we launched our new @Trebbly loyalty card system, which we are so excited about as every time you visit you can now collect points to redeem against services and products. You can also collect even more points if you share us with your friends and they visit.

After much Prosecco flowed the biggest excitement was at the end of the evening when we did our charity raffle !

We raised £410 for @TheChildrensTrust - Thank you for the amazing prizes donated by local businesses including a trip to Paris and a spa weekend !

It was so amazing to see so many faces old and new ! The salon was heaving and a really fun evening -

A few days later I enjoyed an interview with Nicky Patrick on BBC radio Surrey you can Listen to the show on @BBCradiosounds / 8th September 7pm 

There’s no time to come up for breath as we have lots more exciting shoots and projects coming up before the Christmas rush which we cannot wait to share 

I’m so happy that we are now officially in our second year and I’m over the moon at how so many people have supported me and believed in me on my journey starting up a business in tricky times

I owe it all to my wonderful loyal clients friends and family ........... but not forgetting the amazing insanely talented creative director Egidio (GID) 

Thank you for all your hard work support wonderful hair and fun and laughter ! I especially owe this successful year to you the most amazing Hair Artist I have ever worked with and together we have become a dream team for our clients.

Wow what a fantastic few months in the salon !

It’s been so exciting creating hair for lots of new faces !

On top of running a busy salon I’ve managed to grace the pages of Your Surrey Wedding magazine in Dec/Jan and Feb/March issues with my work shared and interviews and a Q and A feature ! Wow !

Most excitingly my first collection has been featured again in a glossy - and I’m so very proud it’s been featured on a double spread in the spring/summer edition of Good Salon Guide magazine which goes national in the next few days !

Shannon my lovely stylist has touched down on English soil after her travels across Asia and New Zealand for the last four months and is available for bookings to work her magic

And last but not least....

Introducing our new artistic director Egidio ‘Gid’ Sala to the team ! Gid Trained in Knightsbridge by Errol Douglas also on the artistic team of Richard Ward for many years. He has had published work in the Daily Mail and worked on catwalk shows for Christian Dior and Harrod’s to name but a few.

Amongst so many accolades he has a high reputation and provides an outstanding client personal experience and his passion for his craft spills through the salon.

We are so happy to welcome this highly talented man to the team at TeresaWellerHairArt Dorking and looking forward to sharing more of his work.

Happy new year everyone !
What an amazing start to the new year !

I’ve just been awarded 5* from Good salon Guide, this is a huge achievement for me in my 5th month at the new salon - I can’t wait to start working alongside Good salon guide.

I love January - fresh beginnings and a whole new year ahead and this one I feel is going to be incredible

I’d like to say a huge thank you to my lovely team Shannon, Stefanie and Mia 💕who during December supported me to make it my busiest ever Christmas in my hairdressing career, working round the clock we smashed it and had so much fun making everyone look beautiful.

I have some exciting projects and a few shoots lined up this month in the salon, including next weeks shoot working with some very special local people with masses of talent for singer songwriter Alex from Mee and the band

I had the pleasure of creating some fun hairpieces for her performance last month at the Shepard’s bush empire to compliment her extrovert costumes and headdresses, so this shoot for her new album is going to be epic as I get the chance to create some really different Avantgarde hair 💕

I have a special offer for Valentine’s Day - if you're making an eve of it with your one and only - I’m doing a hair and makeup session which will take 1 hour to have your hair beautifully blowdryed, curled or put up by myself and your makeup done by a lovely make up artist I’ve been working alongside for a few months Paula - for the incredible price of £55 💕💕💕💕

I’m a little late with my news blog this month as it’s been CRAZY 

I can only compare opening the salon to having a new baby, now 8 weeks in I’m finally catching my breath...... this could be that at the same time of the opening the doors, my new Avante Garde collection that graces the walls of the new salon also did grace the pages of professional hair magazine Tribu-te amongst other trade and high end mags across the South, London and nationally . Now I’m told the collection is going over seas - —— watch this space! 

I’ve also had reviews and writes ups in Surrey life mag and Leatherhead advertiser, this has caused a bit of a media frenzy with photographers visiting almost every other day!!

Now that’s all calmed down I can safely say I’m in the swing of Salon life on Dorking High street and I’ve met some amazing people! And I’m also so grateful for all the wonderful feedback from new and existing clients.

On a very wet and rainy Sunday the 14th October I held the official launch party which was a massive success thanks to my family and friends really helping me out on the day - I showcased five models with a party / avante feel to their hair and enjoyed a glasses of fizz with everyone.

Massive thanks to Juan and Jeff from Seventa makeup academy for coming down to the salon to do makeup for the models and a few guests.

Brooklands Radio's presenter Ivana O’brian came along and interviewed lots of my guests including local businesses. She was once again a fabulous presenter bringing out the best in people.

The launch was broadcast on a woman’s hour special last week Friday 2nd Nov, you can listen here to the podcast.

Last but not least lovely Shannon joined me a few weeks ago - I met her a few years back when she restyled my hair and I knew she had a lot of magic about her.

Since she’s been with me I’ve been astounded by the quality of her colour correction work and beautiful balayages and she brings so much positive energy and fun to the salon 

So now the dark nights are here and the winter months are looming pop by to the salon and lets get your hair Christmas ready eek!!!

Hey all

Hope everyone's having an amazing Summer 💛

I had so much fun a few weeks ago when I had the most amazing experience being interviewed by the very lovely radio presenters Ivana O'Brian and Anna Twist for #justwomen on Brooklands Radio - its a weekly show that is a little like loose women on the radio where I got to talk about all my amazing experiences being a session stylist, working on the catwalk with celebs on tour and wedding hair alongside my new salon opening soon.

I felt like a bunny in the headlights for the first few minutes as it wasn't rehearsed it was literally raw and live - but at the end of the interview I just wanted to do it all again!

Wow! Just when I thought this year couldn't get any better with the new salon almost ready to move into this summer.

I was privileged to lead the hair team once again for Seventa Makeup Academy for Pride in London #pridematters with a truly incredible line up of hairstylists and makeup artists! And this year I brought my sister Catherine along to assist me with Space buns, glitter and braids! We had so much fun!

And of course there was a huge line up of performers to create the hair for - the atmosphere back stage once again was incredible and extremely hot! I was in the VIP tent right next to the stage with my partner in crime Juandelbra (juanlopez) on makeup and partner Jeff owners of Seventa Makeup Academy.

I loved creating the hair for PGT finalists Andrea Di Giovanni, George Redwood and Natelie Amanda Grey, amongst tv stars and drag queens or drag stars and tv queens!

ITV's Lorraine Kelly popped by and it was also fantastic to see Sir Ian McKellan make a surprise visit on the stage, not to mention the adorable Alyssa Edwards who is so fabulously stunning, her hair was perfection but I got to dust her with glitter just before her performance.

This years big names artists were Alexandra Burke who gave an incredible performance alongside another of my favs Sophie Ellis Bexter.

What an Amazing day of glitter and rainbows, I always feel exhausted for a few days after working backstage on the hair for the performers and then I wish it was next year so I can do it all again. 

Every year just gets better 🌈🌈💃🏿

This year though something very big is happening for me very soon...

The sign is up the paint is on the walls and the furniture is being fitted as I write this
